Our Club

Our Probus Club provides an opportunity for retired men and women from PROfessional and BUSiness backgrounds in Cheltenham to attend regular meetings with like-minded people who appreciate varied interests.  The emphasis being on socialising and making new friends.

We provide a friendly environment in which to meet, make new friends, enjoy conversation and listen to a programme of talks.  These are an eclectic mix of educational and entertaining subjects, normally followed by a lively Q&A session with the guest speaker.

The dress code is smart casual.

Our Club was founded in 1976 and we presently have around 40 members. We hold our regular meetings every Wednesday in the Cheltenham Bowling Club clubhouse, in Suffolk Square.

The club meetings start at 10.00 am with an informal gathering where tea, coffee and biscuits are provided and socialising with other members can take place.  The formal meeting then starts at 10.30 for discussion of club matters followed by the guest talk.  Meetings usually finish around midday. 

We also have occasional outings to places of interest to members.

There is an annual membership fee of £110.00 which covers the cost of around 45 weekly events plus the tea/coffee and biscuits.

We are always looking for new members who are very warmly welcomed. If you are interested, you are invited to contact the Club Secretary.
